My expertise has been gained through more than 20 years of experience working with children, plus an additional 5 years of study in higher education. This, combined with taking regular and ongoing professional development opportunities, means that I am able to offer expertise in the following areas:

Knowledge of infant (0-2 years), child (3-13 years) and adolescent (14-19 years) cognitive, social and emotional development and neuropsychological development

Knowledge of a range of conditions that can present barriers to learning including dyslexia, dyscalculia, autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and acquired brain injury

Assessment of infant, child and adolescent cognition, and social and emotional development, including attachment difficulties

Assessment and identification of special educational needs, including emotional and behavioural difficulties, learning difficulties and language and communication difficulties

Formulation of interventions and strategies to support cognitive, social and emotional development

Formulation of interventions for children with special educational needs

Assessment and interventions for children and adolescents with specific syndromes or conditions including autism spectrum disorders (ASD), Asperger Syndrome, Down’s Syndrome and acquired brain injury

Facilitation of communication and collaboration between parents or carers and  teachers in order to support the psychological development of infants, children and adolescents including those with special educational needs

Knowledge of the Code of Practice for special educational needs in England
